Mrs Rojina Pradhan Rai is HANACS pan-British Isles (UK and Ireland) Nepali community outreach Ambassador. We are delighted she is part of our team and holding this important role, as she has been a very respected and extremely effective Ambassador for UK Nepali community outreach under HANACS predecessor organisation the UKNFS, working closely and effectively with organisation lead Alan Mercel-Sanca on such major community support initiatives as assistance to 300+ Nepali international students who suffered greatly in the unpreparedness of many universities in the UK towards their international students welfare and support when Covid 19 struck. A former NRNA UK Vice President who served in that role with distinction, Rojina is an NRNA ICC Vice President, and has a passion for intercultural perspectives sharing between diaspora and country of residence general populations and local to national governments councils, departments, and broader entities.
In her HANACS Nepali pan-British isles (UK and Ireland) ‘Ambassador’ role Rojina will be helping UK and Ireland Nepali diaspora communities to share Nepali arts and culture (from culinary, to dance, music, and fashion and film) with broader general publics and cities in the UK and Ireland.
BACKGROUND:
Rojina Pradhan Rai is a distinguished graduate of Anglia Ruskin University (UK), holding a master’s degree (MA) in Business Management. A visionary entrepreneur and exemplary leader, she currently serves as the Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Council (NRNA ICC).
Renowned for her exceptional contributions, she is an esteemed figure within the UK Nepali community and Nepal, where her leadership has created a significant and enduring impact. With a profound professional background, she previously held the prestigious role of Vice President at NRNA UK and successfully coordinated the 332 Organisation Coordination Department, further solidifying her legacy of impactful community development and engagement.
A highly motivated and results-driven professional, Mrs. Pradhan Rai brings extensive expertise in community engagement, independent business operations, and strategic leadership. She consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to fostering unity, diversity, and collaboration. Her ability to organize transformative, activity-based, cross-cultural initiatives has strengthened bonds among individuals from diverse backgrounds while promoting inclusivity. Moreover, her dedication to offering direct, individualized support has significantly benefited underrepresented communities, including members of the Nepali diaspora. Her influence spans both national platforms in the UK and global engagements within the international Nepali diaspora, where she has played pivotal leadership roles.
For over nine years, Mrs. Pradhan Rai has served as the President of the RojiHira Foundation, registered in Koshi Province, Morang District, Nepal. As the visionary Founder and Chairperson of KEHIROSE International Pvt. Ltd., she spearheads the landmark Barju Taal Project (also known as Chimadi Taal), a transformative wetland conservation initiative involving a natural lake with a budget of seven billion Nepalese rupees. Her portfolio also includes being the Brand Ambassador of the UK-Nepal Friendship Society (UKNFS) — later Nepal Ambassador for its successor the Himalayan and Nepal Arts and Culture Society (HANACS) — and a member of Human Rights UK. In addition, she serves as an advisor to various esteemed organizations, including Khotang Sewa Samaj UK, NRNA UK, NRNA ICC Europe Vocational Education, and the World Newah Organization Executive Committee.
Mrs. Pradhan Rai is highly regarded for her expertise in the tourism industry, where she leverages her comprehensive understanding of the sector to enhance Nepal’s global tourism profile. Her commitment to natural disaster recovery is equally remarkable. She has been instrumental in disaster relief efforts, such as aiding victims of the Maui fires, the 2015 Nepal earthquakes, and the recent earthquake in Jajarkot District, Karnali Province, where she personally deployed with NRNA to provide food and clothing to affected communities.

INVOLVED WITH:
- Active participant in “Together We Will Beat Cancer” initiatives.
- Spearheading the establishment of a free E-library at Shree Rastiya Mabi Bashpani School in Khotang Baspani.
- Provided aid to victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake in Sindhupalchock, including dispatching essential materials and organizing health camps for over 1,000 households.
- Engaged in charitable endeavours worldwide since 2009.
- Collaborated with UKNFS (UK Nepal Friendship Society) on strategic development and initiatives relevant to Nepal’s trade and tourism, under the patronage of H.E. the Ambassador of Nepal to the UK.
- Contributed to the establishment of a Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre, introducing 10 sports wheelchairs for the first time in Nepal.
- Assisted in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on women and supporting 340 Nepali and international students.
- Participated in UK Nepal COVID-19 support, raising over 2 Crore with NRN.
- Provided assistance to Nepal during the second wave of COVID-19, addressing shortages of medical oxygen, PPE, and essential supplies.
- Supported international students during the first wave of COVID-19 by distributing food and offering job consultancy services.
- Contributed to the development of the NRNA Model Village LAPARK.
- Collaborated with local communities through voluntary work and financial support.
- Distributed food aid to address the COVID-19 impact in Khotang District, Gawupalika, Ward No. 2, Kapase Vanjhang Khotehang.
- Actively involved in the construction of 145 houses in Province 1, Biratnagar Palika 12, Mushara Basti (2022).
- Provided medical kits to Khotang Baspani Help Post in 2022.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Completed master’s degree in business administration (AM) from Anglia Ruskin University.
- Obtained OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (QCF) from Anglia Ruskin University.
- Attained CMI (Chartered Management Institute) Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership from The London College.
- Completed Management Diploma at Farnborough College of Technology.
- Pursued Nursing studies at the University of West London (UWL).

ACTIVITIES INVOLVEMENT:
- She climbed Everest’s Base Camp recently on International Women’s Day 2024 with 19 remarkable women from diverse backgrounds. They united to issue a powerful 7-point manifesto for climate justice, highlighting the disproportionate impact of climate change on women worldwide. Together, they stand for a sustainable future with Sath Sathai.
- 2015 earthquakes, she has helped with landslide recovery efforts in Nepal. Last November, when an earthquake struck the Jajarkot District, Karnali Province, she self-deployed with NRNA to distribute food and clothing to affected individuals.
